In 1994, Black TV was in a renaissance. “The Cosby Show” has just ended it’s reign but in it’s wake we had “Martin,” “In Living Color,” “A Different World,” “Living Single” and “New York Undercover.”

Even in the Obama Era, it’s hard to think of a network gambling on a gritty, cop show focused on Black and Latino leads, let alone 22 years ago! But there it was, a major hit and cultural phenomenon as it mixed classic crime procedural with burgeoning hip-hop culture. And at the center were Malik Yoba and Michael DeLorenzo as J.C. and Eddie (R.I.P. baby!).

By the time the show went off the air in 1999, it was a MUCH different show with a much different cast. How did that happen? Well, just so happens we might now a little something about that.
