Hannibal’s Soul Kitchen in Charleston | Savor The City

Crab rice, a classic Lowcountry dish, remains a fixture at Hannibal’s Soul Kitchen. Named after the family patriarch, Papa Hannibal, he opened the family’s restaurant in 1985 with a vision to help and feed the city. Now owned by L.J Huger and his daughters Safiya Grant and Felicity Huger, their mission is to continue the family legacy and tradition of providing the community with authentic lowcountry cuisine at an affordable price. Staple dishes like their crab and shrimp rice, okra soup, fried local shark steak, oxtails and stew gizzards, or savory lima beans stewed in smoked neck bones keep their legacy alive! Learn more about this Charleston staple on #SavorTheCity Thursdays at 8p/7c!
