Anthony Brown plays Maurice, the general manager at the radio station where Rickey Smiley works. Brown has been a staple on the nationally syndicated Tom Joyner Morning Show for over nine years, where his comedic antics and voice are heard by radio listeners in nearly 200 markets.

Gabriel Burgess plays Aaron, the youngest of Rickey Smiley’s children. Burgess has been performing since the age of 2 and already had independent film credits under his belt.

Aijona Alexus plays De’anna, Rickey Smiley’s only daughter and the middle child of his three children. Alexus is a multitalented young artist and student at the Alabama School of Fine Arts.

Jay Lewis plays Brandon, the eldest of Rickey Smiley’s three children. After winning BET’s comedy talent search show, Coming to the Stage in 2003 at the age of 13, Lewis was dubbed the “Prince of Comedy” and has since landed acting gigs in television and film on movies like Beauty Shop and a starring role on Nickelodeon’s Just Jordan.

Noree Victoria plays Simone, Rickey Smiley’s manager. Victoria was lured into acting by her family’s entertainment roots. She’s related to the great jazz musician Eubie Blake and Emmy-nominated actress Penny Jerald. She has since appeared in several television productions, including Necessary Roughness, Army Wives and The Game.

Roz Ryan plays Rickey Smiley’s Aunt Sylvia who helps raise his three kids. Ryan has a 30-year career as a singer and television and broadway actress. She is most known for her role as the cantankerous Amelia Heterbrink on Amen.

Ray J plays Kenny, the show’s producer and Rickey Smiley’s protégé. It’s been an 18-year rise to the top for this singer, actor, TV presenter, entrepreneur, reality TV star and now author. With four top selling albums under his belt with R&B songs like “Wait a Minute,” “One Wish,” “Sexy Can I, “ and “Tie Me Down,” on his hit list, Ray J has established himself as one of the top selling independent music artists of all times.
