Being a Black NFL quarterback is still, in this day and age, a rare feat. And being one as good as Michael Vick was rarer still. But there he was, in the early 2000’s, breaking records and taking his team — the Atlanta Falcons — to two play-offs. All was well, until allegations of brutal dog fighting surfaced which lead to Vick spending about a year and half behind bars. Released in 2009, without major endorsements, Vick joined the Philadelphia Eagles a year later where he is still performing but no where near his career highs.
