Warner Bros. just released the official trailer for ‘Judas and The Black Messiah.’ The upcoming film will follow the story of Fred Hampton, the former chairman of the Black Panther Party.

Academy Award nominee Daniel Kaluuya will star in the movie, taking on the lead role of Hampton. Kaluuya’s “Get Out” film-mate LaKeith Stanfield also has a starring role portraying a Black Panther member who becomes a police informant. Directed by Shaka King and produced by Ryan Coogler (“Creed,” “Black Panther“) and Charles D. King (“Just Mercy, “Fences“) makes it clear that this film’s star power continues behind the camera as well.

Movie analysts and critics have already suggested that Kaluuya’s performance in the movie could snag him an Oscar, and solely based on the thrilling trailer, we couldn’t agree more.

Though no specific date has been released, according to Warner Bros. the film will hit the big screens sometime in 2021.
