The COVID-19 global pandemic continues to impact our nation in unprecedented ways. Millions of Americans have been laid off or furloughed, schools are closed and businesses are struggling to adjust to these trying times. During moments of national distress, it is the faith community that can be trusted to cover our country and its leaders in prayer and provide a voice of hope to individuals who are overwhelmed and afraid.
On Friday, April 10th at 6:00am EST, the Radio One COVID-19 National Day of Prayer, #OneinPrayer, features radio one personalities uniting the community together to pray for our leaders, the healthcare professionals on the frontlines, families whose loved ones have been diagnosed or lost due to the virus, and all Americans who are reeling furlough, layoffs and the uncertainty caused by this global pandemic.
A call to prayer and invitation to houses of worship, clergy, political leaders, and our content consumers would be issued, and Praise radio personalities, Erica Campbell, Willie Moore, Jr. and Darlene McCoy along with local market personalities. The campaign will feature uplifting music, prayers of encouragement from designated guests and brief words of encouragement from selected speakers.
