Yet another ‘Empire’ star has been arrested in Chicago. Bryshere Gray is the most recent actor from the hit series to have a run-in with the Chicago police. The 25-year-old, who plays Hakeem Lyons, was arrested on Thursday after being pulled over for vehicle registration issues.

Karie James, a spokeswoman for the CPD told USA Today that the temporary license plate on the car did not match records for the 2014 Rolls-Royce the TV star was driving.

The actor was charged with a misdemeanor and later released. He also received tickets for both driving without a license and driving an uninsured vehicle.

This is the latest of a growing list of embarrassing news involving ‘Empire.’ It was recently announced that the show would be canceled and Gray’s former co-star Jussie Smollett was featured in headlines earlier this year following an alleged racist and homophobic attack. Smollett was eventually arrested and charged for lying and misleading police, though the charges have since been dropped.

This past week, ‘Empire’ show creator Lee Daniels admitted that he was “beyond embarrassed” by the Smollett scandal and blames the incident for the show’s cancellation.

So far, Daniels has made no comments on Bryshere Gray’s recent arrest.
