The third film from the popular Fallen franchise returns and a new face is joining the series, Jada Pinkett Smith. Reprising their roles in Olympus Has Fallen (2013) and London Has Fallen (2016), Morgan Freeman and Gerard Butler are back for Angel Has Fallen.
According to reports, “the trailer opens with a tranquil image of sitting U.S. President Allan Trumbull (Freeman) fishing on a quiet lake alongside Secret Service Agent Mike Banning (Gerard Butler). However, their reverie is quickly upended when a series of explosive drones attempt to assassinate the President. Banning is then wrongfully accused of the assassination attempt and taken into custody. Evading capture, the disgraced agent goes on the run in a quest to clear his name. To do this, Banning must avoid detection by his own agency and outwit the FBI to decipher who tried to kill President Trumbull.”

Angel Has Fallen hits theaters August 23. Will Smith is also returning to the big screen this year, twice. His role as the Genie in Disney’s Aladdin will be released in this weekend and Gemini Man in October. Watch the trailer here.
