The Queen of Funk is back! Chaka Khan just announced that she’s making her musical return with her first album in 12 years. Hello Happiness is set to be released next month.

According to a statement on the “I’m Every Woman” singer’s website, her upcoming LP will be giving fans everything they’ve been waiting for: “‘Hello Happiness’ is an album which sets Chaka Khan’s timeless vocal to an empowering collection of songs with cutting-edge production. With an eye on the future and a respect for the past, Chaka Khan has delivered an album with the contemporary edge to entice newcomers to her world class talent and the quality to excite long-term fans.” Watch the video for the title track (which just-so-happens to be the second single) below:

Although it wasn’t released under her indie record label, the first single from Hello Happiness, “Like Sugar” was released last summer from Diary Records, a new sublabel under Universal Music. Watch the video below:

The 65-year-old began her career in 1973 as the lead singer of the funk band, Rufus, and five years later, decided to part ways and embark on her solo career. In 1984, she released “I Feel for You” and became the first R&B artist to have a crossover hit featuring a rapper. Throughout her almost five-decade career, she’s sold approximately 70 million records globally and has 10 Grammy Awards to her name.

Although Chaka was snubbed for a nomination into the 2019 Rock & Roll Hall of Fame late last year, and suffered a less-than-best performance because of the flu, best believe she’s coming back stronger than ever with her forthcoming album. Hello Happiness is set to be released on February 15.
