2018 has not been kind to black programming – at all. Earlier this year Netflix announced it’s the cancelation of Luke Cage and All About The Washingtons and BET pulled the plug on Anika Noni Rose‘s The Quad. Now the same network is also saying goodbye to Hit The Floor, the drama series that originally starred Kimberly Elise.

In its first three seasons, the series premiered on VH1, but moved to BET for season four, eliminating Elise’s role and adding Teyana Taylor to the mix.

Reportedly BET is making room for its new programming, including the Don Cornelius series, American Soul (watch the trailer here) and the television remake of First Wives Club, starring Jill ScottMichelle Buteau, Ryan Michelle Bathe, Malik Yoba, Mark Tallman and Ronreaco Lee.

We guess the saying, out with the old and in with the new really holds some weight.
