Last month the reality television star visited the White House to discuss Johnson’s case and plead for clemency. The 66-year-old was sentenced in 1996 for helping a multimillion-dollar cocaine ring, something she admitted she became involved with after she lost her job and was unable to support her family.

This morning the White House released a statement on Wednesday commending Johnson for her ability to rehabilitate herself in prison. Johnson’s clemency was supported by her warden, Arcala Washington-Adduci, who told the White House she is a “model inmate who is willing to go above and beyond in all work tasks.”

The mother of three took to Twitter to share the good news with the rest of the world.

Say what you will about her family, her body and even who she’s married to, but this is what using your influence, access and privilege is all about! Check out this video of Johnson’s sister Coria’s reaction to the incredible news.
