According to Whitney Houston‘s brother Gary Houston, the singer was sexually abused by Dionne Warwick‘s sister Dee Dee. These new allegations and other in-depth moments are apart of the Kevin MacDonald directed documentary, Whitney. Gary also admits that he too was sexually assaulted by Dee Dee.

“He’s saying I was abused by this person and told me, ‘I think she abused Whitney,’” Macdonald told IndieWire. “Pat Houston [Gary’s wife], who’s here, told me that, yeah, Whitney had told her this but not given any details.”

According to reports, the allegations were also confirmed by Whitney’s aunt Mary Jones. “She decided this was the elephant in the room that nobody wanted to talk about, this was the thing that to her — she had a sister who had been abused in her childhood, and she felt so strongly that this was the thing that was the catalyst of so many things in Whitney’s life,” Macdonald said.

The documentary is the first of its kind as it’s the only film depiction of the singer that has been approved by Whitney’s estate. It reportedly “provides never-before-seen performance and other video footage of the star, her family, fans and friends.” Cissy Houston, Bobby Brown, Clive Davis and Kevin Costner also appear in the movie. Pat Houston serves as executive producer.
