Some divas just persevere. Vanessa Williams was the first African American Miss America when nude photos of her surfaced and she was asked to resign her post. Most would have faded into obscurity after that scandal, but a few years later, Williams was back with three Grammy nominations for her album “The Right Stuff,” followed by five more nominations for her chart-topping hit, “Save the Best for Last.” And, she kept on coming with movie roles opposite Arnold Schwarzenegger in “Eraser” and as the workaholic sister, Teri, in “Soul Food.” More recently, she landed diva-licious roles on TV’s hottest shows, “Ugly Betty” and “Desperate Housewives.” Now that’s how you make a comeback.
