When the news of a possible Super Fly remake starring Trevor Jackson (Grownish, American Crime) first surfaced, many critics weren’t on board with a modern take on the 1972 cult classic.
Even with the announcement of Jason Mitchell and Future joining the cast and production team (the rapper will take the lead on curating the film’s soundtrack), fans still weren’t thrilled with the idea.
But that could all change with the addition of Emmy nominated actor Michael K. Williams. Most known for his roles in Bessie, Boardwalk Empire and The Wire, the 51-year-old has signed on to play Scatter in the Director X led Superfly redo.
The film will reportedly be in theaters June 15.
