Night Of The Proms At Ahoy

Today’s “You Tried It” report comes courtesy of the hair grease enthusiast formally known as Jermaine Jackson. The Jackson 5 member has made good on his pledge to legally change his name to Jermaine Jacksun. Why on Earth would a 58-year-old with one of the most famous last names on Earth randomly decide to change it?

According to his attorney, it was done for “artistic reasons.”

Insert your boos, hisses, and sucking of your teeth here.

Jacksun’s attorney, Bret D. Lewis, wrote in the petition: “If Prince and P Diddy can do it, why can’t and shouldn’t Jermaine?”

Well, Diddy isn’t exactly his government name, now is it? As for Prince, we know that wasn’t all the way “stunt queen” and more like “artistic protest.”

This isn’t the first time Jermaine changed his name, by the way. After converting to Islam in 1989, he adopted the moniker Mohammad Abdul Aziz.

All of this makes me miss Michael Jackson even more.
