According to the New York Times, will continue to allow players to kneel or sit during the national anthem, if they choose, without any penalty. In addition, the league promised to help support some of the causes targeted by the protesting players, including the criminal justice system.

The news comes after Colin Kaepernick and his legal team filed a grievance against the NFL for collusion and after several celebrities spoke out against the slave mentality of the NFL and the owners.
