Remember when you were back in grade school and superlative awards like “Most Likely To Succeed” and “Best Dressed” were fun and maybe even a boost to your ego?

Apparently those days are now over after a Black student in Texas brought a “Most Likely To Blend in With White People” award home:

According to reports, Sydney Caesar, a student at Anthony Aguirre Junior High School in Texas, received an offensive “award” from her college-prep teacher Stacey Lockett. The award embarrassed Caesar so much that she decided to skip the last day of school.

Just like all of our parents/families would be, Caesar’s mother and sister are pissed.

Her mother Latonya Robinson tells Fox 26 Houston:

“For that child to either be called a terrorist or she’s not black enough, basically now the students are taking that and that’s her label for the rest of the school year. Everyone doesn’t believe that this is real. But yes, this certificate shows that this is real. This happened. And we have enough bullying as it is by other students, now it’s being done by a teacher”, says Robinson.

Her sister, Lauren Easton even shared a few words with the news source:

“Where is the common sense in that? I mean, how can you think that is okay to say it in the first place and then right after a major event has happened? It just doesn’t make any sense.”

The saddest thing is that this is the same school responsible for giving a student a “Most Likely To Be  A Terrorist” “award.” Even more sad is that reportedly the teacher, Stacey Lockett, only received a suspension.

TELL US: How would you react as a parent if you’re child brought this award home?
