Founded in 1877, Jackson State University is a historically black public research institution. Through its five colleges, JSU offers undergraduate and graduate degrees in numerous fields of study. Majors offered by JSU include Biology, Chemistry, Aerospace Studies, Special Education, Economics and many more. Outside of the classroom, students participate in numerous on-campus groups and organizations. If you want to go Greek, all of the historically black fraternities and sororities have a line each year on campus. Since its beginnings, Jackson State University has empowered its students to succeed in the world.
