East Tennessee State University was established in 1911. The school is organized into 11 academic colleges and schools. Popular majors include Health Professions, Liberal Arts, Business and Education. ETSU is home to more than 200 student groups and organizations. Groups designed for African-American students include historically black sororities and fraternities and the Black Affairs Association, which hosts the Homecoming Comedy Show that has featured comedians like Joe Clair. East Tennessee State University envisions becoming the best regional higher learning institution in the United States.
