Last we had the stomach to look, former Police Officer Michael Slager was a free man after a mistrial failed to convict him of murder after shooting the unarmed, 50-year-old Walter Scott in the back as he ran slowly away. “I didn’t know why he was running. It made no sense to me,” Slager confessed in court but still maintaining that he pulled the trigger out of “total fear” for his life.

Well, things appear to be changing as the Washington Post is reporting that Slager will plead guilty to charges of murder today in Federal court. Why? It’s not clear but we’re sure that those searching for justice see this as a move in the right direction.
