It’s that time of year again: Wealthy celebrities will flock to the Metropolitan Museum of Art to outdo each other in the most over-the-top attire in the name of charity, widely known as the Met Gala.
The competition is so stiff that if there were a referee involved (André Leon Talley, perhaps?), this could be a sport on its own:
Of course, part of our enjoyment comes from the questionable fashion choices on display (last year we laughed at Kanye and made a few slick remarks about Bey’s choices) but the largest appeal comes from the person who manages to steal the show, just like the ultimate bad gal, Rihanna, did last year:
We’re predicting that Ri-Ri will turn heads again this year and we dare anyone to try and take her shine (seriously, we’ll be talking about this again tomorrow). Here are a few memorable looks from last year that we feel André would approve of:
