If you don’t count us stalking his vacation pics, it hasn’t even been three months since we last saw President Obama but damn if it doesn’t feel like three years!

And then, all of a sudden, he was there. All tanned and casual in a shirt and jacket (no tie), smiling easy and talking freely while moderating a panel of Chicago youth.

“The single most important thing I can do is to help in any way I can to prepare the next generation of leadership to take up the baton and to take their own crack at changing the world,” Obama told the crowd.

Hmm. What about the world has changed since he left? Oh yeah . . . this guy.

But Obama didn’t even mention his successor and, instead, focused on next steps. That was probably the classier move versus what we would have LIKED to have heard — Obama airing Trump out for two straight hours. But, maybe that’s what the upcoming memoir is for.

And while we’d NEVER want to change Obama, we think maybe he should have hired Roland Martin to “interpret” his real post-presidency feelings into a video that probably would have played something like this:
