UPDATE — Eddie Murphy has released a statement about the passing of his brother here: “Our hearts are heavy with the loss today of our son, brother, father, uncle, and friend Charlie. Charlie filled our family with love and laughter, and there won’t be a day that goes by that his presence will not be missed. Thank you for the outpouring of condolences and prayers. We respectfully ask for privacy during this time of great loss for all of us.”

This can’t be life right now.

TMZ is reporting that Charlie Murphy, who we JUST talked with for his episode of “Unsung Hollywood,” died Wednesdat after a fight with Leukemia.

Murphy’s manager said the comedian, who lost his wife Tisha to cervical cancer in 2009, had recently undergone chemotherapy for the disease.

Best known for his breakout “True Hollywood Stories” on “Chappelle’s Show,” Murphy had long been in the business — first as brother Eddie’s security team — working as a stand-up comedian and with roles in TV and film including “The Boondocks,” “Mo’ Betta Blues” and “CB4.”

In tribute, we found this clip of Charlie giving us a new true Hollywood story about the one and only Stevie Wonder!
