We were shocked to see viral footage of a PAYING customer violently dragged off an overbooked United Airlines flight just to seat employees.

We were even MORE shocked to see United Airlines CEO Oscar Munoz initially condone the behavior in a letter to his employees. According to reports, Munoz mentioned that David Dao, (the 69-year-old doctor from Kentucky shown in the video) was “disruptive and belligerent.”

But of course, once United’s stock plummeted on Tuesday, the CEO began to sing a different tune:

“I continue to be disturbed by what happened,” United chief executive Oscar Munoz said in a statement. “I deeply apologize to the customer forcibly removed and to all the customers aboard. No one should ever be mistreated this way.”

Here are our thoughts on the matter:

1. United Airlines will need a Olivia Pope-grade publicist after this fiasco. Even then, THIS may be too much of a challenge.

2. Despite recent allegations of Dao’s not-so-innocent past within Medicine, we still feel that no one deserves this type of treatment.

3.  Seriously, why does it always take losing money for companies to do “the right thing?”

4. Tuh! You won’t catch us dead (pun intended) on a United Airlines flight after ALL THAT.

TELL US: What are your thoughts on this entire story? Will you be flying United Airlines in the near future?
