It’s rare that we get five great movies in any year, especially films that look to tell our story. It’s also rare that we get such diverse stories about us told so well and across genres.

“Fences” brought August Wilson’s play to the big screen, while “Moonlight” looked to uncover the struggles of sexual identity for Black men. “Loving” and “Hidden Figures” looked at recent history to inform our current times and “The Birth of a Nation” saw the story of slave rebellion brought to visceral life.

Which film do you think has the best shot to win this year?
