At this point we’ve heard someone (ahem, Crissle) call Solange‘s A Seat At the Table the blackest album this year. Would you agree?
The album came as a pleasant surprise, saying everything we needed to hear to end the year perfectly. When we heard that Solange would be performing cuts from the LP for the first time on Saturday Night Live, we watched and waited. Would she bring “it” on stage?
Answer: Yes. Her performance of “Cranes in the Sky” and “Don’t Touch My Hair” are the most stunning (and New Orleanian) we’ve seen from Solange yet. See for yourself:
