We don’t know what it is, but we noticed that Beyoncé really has a thing for the 70’s.
So we weren’t all that surprised that she went with a Soul Train themed party, celebrating her 35th birthday in NYC. In fact, we were so impressed by the levels in which she and her celebrity guests committed to the theme, we decided to give them 70’s inspired names.
Diddy as Luscious Leroy (because that hair was layed!)
Cassie as Can You Dig It Cassandra
Alicia Keys as Foxxy Roxxy
Swizz Beats as Boogie Beats
Lala Anthony as Trixie Outta Sight
Carmello Anthony as Dy-no-mite! Dave
Kelly Rowland as Donna Summer (Just give her the role already.)

Jay Z as Hov Hendrix
Usher as Gamin’ Raymond
Solange and family as The Funk-tons (mind you, they dress like this all the time.)
And of course it ain’t a party without a mini performance from Bey (a.k.a Goldie Cleopatra). Gone wit yo bad self, Goldie!
The night was sealed with a Happy Birthday (and cake swipe) from Blue herself:
