The thirst for new music from Beyoncé was quenched with Saturday night’s release of LEMONADE, an HBO film and visual album from thee Queen Bey.
We had to rewatch it a few times to really get it (some of the concepts were a bit abstract) but here are 10 things we learned after watching LEMONADE:
1. Beyoncé may not be in the most picture-perfect relationship we perceived this whole time.
2. The film was broken into 9 segments: Intuition, Denial, Anger, Apathy, Accountability, Reformation, Forgiveness, Emptiness, Redemption/Hope which alluded to the different stages a relationship goes through after infidelity.
3. The elevator situation with Solange and Jay-Z, makes so much more sense now.
4. The film’s spoken word interludes a.k.a “Beyonce’s Maya Angelou moments” were all written by British-Somali award-winning poet, Warsan Shire.
5. Beyonce’s hot sauce was really a baseball bat. You know, for that sidechick that gets out of line.
6. The lemon emoji will be seen in bulk on all social media platforms where possible.
Thanks Beyoncé for helping me realize how dope the lemon emoji is. ????????????????????????????

7. The moms of Tamir Rice, Mike Brown, Trayvon Martin, Eric Garner, and Oscar Grant looked nothing less than regal as they paid homage to their slain sons.
