TNT/TBS Broadcasts The 19th Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards – Red Carpet Style

Even though she wasn’t particularly to past criticism of this sort, even Viola Davis will now admit that when it comes to portraying a housekeeper, “I’m tired of that.”

She went on to say to CNN: "Me and Octavia [Spencer], Aunjanue Ellis, Roslyn Ruff – we all played maids in The Help and it was fabulous. It’s a fabulous story because we were personalized and all of those things, but I think that people need to see an African American in the 21st century integrated in the life of this town and family who’s not in servitude."

If Hollywood doesn’t help the talented Academy Award-nominated actress in this goal, she will certainly help herself by way of her production company. Nonetheless, hopefully Hollywood steps it up. Like now and same for her fellow Black actors.
