Naomi Campbell is making the media rounds to promote her new model competition show on Oxygen, The Face, and not surprisingly, she was asked about similarities between her show and that other one launched by Tyra Banks several years ago. Well, Naomi Campbell has never seen an episode of America’s Next Top Model apparently so you’ll just have to trust her that it’s a completely different show than Tyra’s. Yes, it does features one of Top Models’ old judges, but it’s Nay-Nay so obviously it’s going to be a whole different vibe.
Naomi explained to Elle magazine:
"I don’t watch the other reality model shows. I’ll never have anything to say. If you ask me about Tyra Banks, I’m proud of her as a woman of color. She’s given girls opportunity, and God bless her."
Now some people took this as shade. Perhaps that’s because they read it in Nay-Nay’s British accent and imagined her mannerisms in the process. For example, they probably envision her being like, “Girl, you tried it!” all up and down her beautiful face in disgust that someone would dare compare her to Tyra.
