As previously noted here, despite rumors to the contrary, Bobby Brown isn’t banned from Whitney Houston’s memorial service. A source tells People magazine, “He is not being banned. That’s completely untrue.” And a family friend had this to say about the story: “Bobby will be there at the funeral to support his [and Houston's] daughter [Bobbi Kristina Brown, 18]. There was some talk … some people were angry at him, but that’s just grief. He will be there.”

Other news about the service includes word that Aretha Franklin will be performing per request from Houston’s longtime mentor, Clive Davis. Of course, Franklin is Houston’s godmother. In addition, Stevie Wonder and Kevin Costner will be among the speakers at her service. On Kevin’s appearance, a family friend explained, “Kevin always supported her and, like many of her friends, they may have lost touch, but they were always friendly.”

In related newsThe Star-Ledger says that according to a family source, Oprah Winfrey, Beyoncé, Jay-Z, Bill Cosby, and Elton John will all attend Whitney’s funeral. A city official with knowledge of the family’s plans is the source of this information, but because he is not officially designated to speak for the family, wouldn’t reveal their identity.

The invite-only funeral on Saturday can be seen by fans via Web streams courtesy of the Associated Press via its site, http://livestream.com/aplive. The Houston family will have a private service on Friday night.
