JANET HUBERT CALLS OUT WENDY WILLIAMS ABOUT WHITNEY’S DEATH

Following the announced death of Whitney Houston, Wendy Williams discussed her death with great sadness – tearing up throughout her comments – about Whitney’s past problems with addiction as well as her own (including smoking crack).
Some were touched by what Wendy said, others instantly recalled their past and asked, “Well, wasn’t Whitney cursing you out on your old talk show because you gossiped about her life constantly?” One of them was clearly the original Aunt Viv and she’s not letting up the issue. Indeed, actress Janet Hubert wrote an open letter to Wendy – accusing her of “crucifying” Whitney when she was alive.
Here is part of the letter:
“You said that morning with tears in your eyes, that you would not discuss Whitney any further, but you crucified her the whole time she was alive, as you do so many people on your show. I want to ask you why? What do you get out of this besides money?
How do you sleep at night knowing that you are one of the biggest bullies in the world disguised as HOT TOPICS? Celebrities are not topics we are people, just like everyone else, we hurt and we hear and we bleed real blood, not fake blood, just as you do.
How do we as parents teach our children to honor each other, treat each other with kindness when all they see are images of people like you who condone and promote meanness, rude reality TV stars, and your opinion as you berate world renowned people like Janet Jackson, Gwyneth Paltrow, and others you slam on a daily basis.
I keep asking myself why no one is saying anything about this. What the hell are they afraid of? Where are my sisters out there who feel as I do?”
To talk about how radio Wendy treated Whitney Houston is different from how daytime talk show host Wendy discussed Whitney is a legitimate argument. However, those who listened to The Wendy Williams Experience have heard Wendy say that no matter what, her intentions were to bring light to Whitney’s battle of addiction. And as a former addict and fan, she took those things personally. Was her methodology off?
There’s reason to say so, but Wendy’s a lot less severe these days. Much of what Janet is saying sounds unrealistic and sanctimonious – not to mention somewhat hypocritical. We all have our opinions and are free to state them. Shouldn’t someone who still bashes Will Smith understand that?

it’s okay for wendy to have strong feelings now that witney houston is now gone i guess that just goes to show she to is human regardless of what she said or felt as somes actions makes one speak of them in some way it’s everyones opionion to express just as it’s yours to make a comment she was also sharing her own drug addiction at that time but i see you dont stay on that so do you have any that you want to share with us meaning the public im just saying well asking everyone that knows wendy williams knows how she is as a person
I agree with Janet Hubert 100%. Although Wendy is paying her respect to Whitney, I still believe that She should be called out. Hopefully, Wendy and others like her would learn to have some respect and stop trying make money off of people’s personal problems. It’s just not cool at all.
Wendy Williams.. Is infatuated with Whitney Houston even in death. She still can’t seem to STOP talking about Whitney.
Since having her show, Wendy has been nothing but a professional when talking about Houston or any other entertainer. While I am fully aware of the 2003 on the radio exchange, but Wendy seemed to have had nothing but respect and regards for the late Houston. For the record all celebrities alive are talked and gossiped about. If they don’t like it, stay out of the media eye and drop the entourage.
Right on Janet i agree with you 100%, the best thing Wendy needs to do is leave whitney and all celebrities alone, everybody has so much to say about whitney now when she is not hear but none of these people was -.around to help when she really needed help Wendy is a joke grow -up;
I agree with Janet Hubert. I use to love he Wendy Williams Show even though I thought she was a transvestite in the beginning. Then I noticed how she got beside herself and talked down to people (including her audience)…I believe that she realized soon that she should not talk down to the people who allowed her to stay on the air so she now refrains from this, but the way she talks about other folks including her staff is RIDICULOUS….I agree with Janet that it is about time we make a stand and call that 7 foot 2 sister out…She even talks harsh to her parents when they are on or off the show….If this is the price to pay for stardom then thank God I am not a star. I stopped watching Wendy because of her arrogance…
I agree with Janet as well. This situation needs someone, who has some kind of credo, to stand up. I used to listen to Wendy on WBLS in NYC. Driving with a friend one day, we listened to Wendy interview Whitney on the phone (the on that is on youtube) to our horror! Wendy asked Whitney questions like, “Do you and Bobby have circus sex?” I was furious! Wendy so crossed the line that day. I lost every ounce of respect I had for her that day. @robjh1: Wendy doesn’t really have a choice now that she is on tv. She HAS to watch her step, because she no longer possesses the anonymity of radio. But I wonder why when she did mention Whitney on her tv show, even after Whitney passed, her dramatics always turn to herself and her past drugging? Really? I thought you were talking about Whitney, not Wendy. How is her drugging even relevant, let alone the crocodile tears and ugly, emotional face? Wendy Williams is a disgrace and quite the hypocrite. I can’t wait until HER voice is silenced.
