Queen Latifah, like so many, many others, has a daytime talk show in the works. Yes, she’s done this before, and no, I’m not sure why she is trying it again. But she is and that’s something we’re all going to have to deal with, okay?
Now, according to the National Enquirer, Queen La is set to throw some real weight behind her new venture by dabbling into her personal life. And by that I mean, dun, dun, dun…come out as a lesbian. Of course, having your suspicions about something is always different from the person telling you themselves. That would certainly add some interest to her show, but do you really think that will happen?
The tabloid claims:
“It will also feature Latifah talking about her life, something she’s never done before,” a show insider told The ENQUIRER.
“She’s going to open up, and her official announcement (coming out) will no doubt have fans glued to their TV screens.”
But that is sure to change big-time on her sizzling new talk show, which is being co-produced by Latifah’s good friends, Will Smith and his wife Jada Pinkett Smith.
“It will be impossible for her to do a daily talk show and not address the issue of her sexuality,” said the source. “She just wants to do it in her own way, on her own show!”
I actually agree with the notion that a daytime talk show host has to reveal some larger part of themselves for the show to work – well, in most formats anyway – but if Queen Latifah were to talk about her sexuality, I highly doubt it’d be for this reason alone.
