She was called the “Goddess of Love” and her sultry and passionate vocal styling of Jazz, Blues and R&B standards and originals made her the quintessential songstress. Hyman exhibited amazing vocal talent from an early age, but her big break didn’t come until the mid-70s when she was discoverd by respected composer, Norman Connors.  Her 20-year recording career filled was with chart-topping R&B hits like “You Know How to Love Me” and “Living All Alone” This last song may have been a window into Hyman’s struggle with depression, search for self-esteem, unconditional love and professional respect, culminating in her untimely and shocking death in 1995 by suicide.
