Unlike Denise Jackson, who follows the “catch more flies with honey” school of thought, Agent Gerald Carter knows his job isn’t to be his parolees’ friend. He only handles sex-offender cases: child molesters, rapists and the like. They’re the most likely to violate their parole, so the no-nonsense Carter visits each of his more than 60 clients every week looking for porn, condoms, sex toys or anything else sex-related. He sometimes conducts night visits, showing up unexpectedly to search their homes. Carter doesn’t think twice about signing a parole warrant if one of his clients commits even the slightest transgression.
