Attraction is tricky. Some may argue that having a specific criteria for the people that you date such as race, height, etc., is a matter of genetics and personal preference. Others may say that the stem of these specific preferences are rooted in discrimination.

But what if you could get even more specific than race and height? With technology, now you can.

Smoochr, the latest dating app geared towards people of color, allows you to choose your next boo via skin complexion and hair texture. Of course, Black Twitter had a field day with this one:

This makes us wonder: Has online dating finally met colorism? Skin complexion and hair texture has always been a touchy topic within the black community. We’re not so sure if dating apps focusing on this further divides us or is a positive celebration of the different shades (and textures) that we may come.

TELL US: Will you be joining Smoochr or other dating apps that focus on hair texture and skin complexion? Do you think this is a good approach  to dating within the black community or an overall bad idea? Comment below or mention us on @tvonetv!
